About Bonnie

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, I'm a middle child, flanked by an older and younger brother. My mother (90 years young) is in assisted living in Victoria.

When I'm not working, I love to travel with my husband, Alan. Fortunately we share a great interest in seeing the world. We even have a 'ten places we must see before we die' list and hope to manage them all.

Another passion is motorcycle riding, which we have been doing since 1999. We have a Honda Gold Wing 1800 that I love for all the trunk space and the comfy seats. We've had many wonderful tours all around Vancouver Island and several trips to the Okanagan.

For a longer ride, we had a ten-day adventure traveling down the Oregon Coast right after we were married in 2002. This was our mini-honeymoon. Alan and I went to Spain for a month that same year.

In 2007, we took our longest ride to date - a three week excursion to the Napa Valley, San Francisco, Yosemite, the Sawtooth Mountain range in Idaho then back home via Nelson and Kelowna. I hated to stop.

My major hobby is cooking and entertaining, and I delight in having guests over to partake in everything from a simple barbeque to a sit-down ten-course formal dinner. Alan says he enjoys it when I use him to experiment with new recipes. Along with this love of food, we have been working at becoming familiar with wines and pairing them with the various dishes I prepare. This is a tough job, but someone has to do it!

I don't have a lot of time for gardening, but when I do get a chance to muddle around in the soil, I find it a peaceful pass time. We have a beautiful garden lot in Saanich West that has every exposure, so I can plant flowers and plants for both the shade and full sun.

Life speeds by us... we need to enjoy every second.
